Update: Enhanced salary threshold for the European Blue Card ("EBC")

The EBC is the residence permit applicable to highly qualified workers wishing to settle in Luxembourg for more than 3 months to perform a highly qualified position.

What's new?

One of the key eligibility criteria for the EBC is the salary level. Previously, candidates needed to earn a minimum annual gross salary of EUR 58,968. However, since 18 March 2025, this threshold has been elevated to EUR 63,408, following the Luxembourg Ministerial Regulation of 6 March 2025.

Why this matters?

Current EBC holders must verify that their salaries meet this new minimum to maintain their eligibility.
