Mercedes Ferrer is an Associate within the Technologies & IP department and of the Commercial Contracts practice of PwC Legal Luxembourg. Prior to joining the firm, Mercedes spent 5 years in two of the largest international law firms in Spain in their IP/IT and Privacy practices.

Mercedes Ferrer advises clients on a wide range of information technology and communications matters and has extensive experience in commercial and IT agreements, data protection issues (including GDPR compliance), e-commerce, and M&A transactions as well as in marketing, advertising and pharma law.

Mercedes also handles matters related to protecting, enforcing and defending intellectual property rights (mainly copyright, trade marks and trade secrets) and assists clients in order to optimize their IP protection strategy by drafting and negotiating all types of IP contracts including licensing, acquisition and assignment agreements.

Mercedes is a certified privacy professional at EU and US level (CIPP/E and CIPP/US) by the IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals).

Moreover, she writes regularly on her areas of expertise in prominent legal journals and platforms, and lectures in postgraduate programs of Spanish universities.
